I’ve been to Düsseldorf several times and no doubt I will visit the city again in the future. It’s one of my most favorite beer cities!

Brabants lekkerste bier
Last Thursday I had the honour to be judge for the Brabant’s most tasty beer competition, Brabant being the most awesome province of the Netherlands.
Dutch beer challenge 2020
One of the things that can be a part of being an international biersommelier is being asked to be a judge in a beer competition. I was asked to judge in the Dutch Beer Challenge of 2020 and of course I said yes!
Dortmund
As I visited Burton last year with the new students, I visited Dortmund in 2018 with my own study group. Our assignment was to brew a Dortmunder Export, but none of us ever drank a Dortmunder Export before.

StiBON: Level 2
As soon as I heard that I passed the level 1 exams I signed up for level 2. Level 2 consists of 12 (actually 13) detailed lessons about everything you can imagine beer related, but like every course in the end you have just scratched the surface.
Burton-on-Trent and beer
Burton-on-Trent is historically speaking a very important beer city and it is mainly known for this extensive brewing history, with its height around the 18th and 19th centuries.

Schneider Weisse fanclubtreffen
The interesting part about Schneider is that they hold their fans in special regard. They even have fanclubs all over the world which they support and every year there’s a fanclubtreffen. This year the treffen was in Eindhoven.
Bamberg and beer
Bamberg, the city of rauchbier. But more importantly, the city with probably the biggest specialty malts house over the world. I will come back to malt houses later.
