Very much to my surprise, I made it to the finale yesterday in the Dutch Cup of Beer Sommeliers. And that was just the beginning!

Last Monday it finally happened! My first time participating in the Dutch Cup of Beer Sommeliers!

With the current status of the world I don’t feel like traveling abroad, so I took the opportunity to visit four of my favourite people in the Dutch brewing world; Carina and Gert from brewery Mommeriete and Arjanneke and Gijs from De Gooische bierbrouwerij.
StiBON: Level 2
As soon as I heard that I passed the level 1 exams I signed up for level 2. Level 2 consists of 12 (actually 13) detailed lessons about everything you can imagine beer related, but like every course in the end you have just scratched the surface.

In June 2018 the Guild for Dutch Biersommeliers organised the first Dutch Cup of Beer Sommeliers!

This year 15 years ago Axel Kiesbye from Obertrum am See near Salzburg, Austria established the course for Diplom Biersommelier in a collaboration with Doemens-Akademie in Grafelfing near München, Germany.
